Salaam Urban Village Association is devoted to providing programs of family service needs for the underserved East African communities.

Gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations allow the SUVA to expand the programs for family services, ESL training and counseling services we offer. 

Fees that are collected from our translation services go back to the organization for continued support of the programs we provide to the community.

2009-2011 include

• Increasing access to Family and youth intervention services

• Counseling and therapy for mental health and post traumatic stress disorder that is affecting the immigrant community

• Increasing capacity for ESL education and Youth afterschool tutoring program 

• Increasing public information and awareness of East African community needs for social services

• Anger management classes for Adults and Youths

• Securing staff for College Preparation for High School Students, and financial aid & scholarship guidance
